   THE FLEA PIT

A small performance for small people...

Belfast Festival @ Queens Oct 2007

Cahoots NI presented the 'The Flea Pit' at The Little Pavillion, Botanic

Gardens, Belfast as part of the Belfast Festival @ Queens Oct 2007.

This magnificent troupe of fleas previously performed across the USA

& Europe, dazzling audiences with incredible feats of mind-reading,

     weight-lifting, trapeze and high wire.

Audiences witnessed this incredible show in a unique purpose built

minature theatre, holding just fifteen people.  They were then invited

backstage to marvel at a museum of curiosities where their host - Dan

Gordon - introduced them to a series of astonishing attractions and revealed

some of the secrets behind the flea circus.  Live music, loads of laughs and

magic tricks galore - a fascinating side show for all the family.

If you missed our international fleas amazing people with their incredible

feats of mind reading, weightlifting and trapeze stunts in Belfast then there

is a chance you could catch them at the Imaginate Childrens International

Theatre Festival in Edinburgh May 2008.  Watch this Space!

REVIEWS

'It's the faces of the kids that make it all worthwhile. They believe everything

they see, their eyes wide as saucers, mouths hanging open in disbelief -

       the picture of innocence.'

Performance Review - Culture Northern Ireland - 26/10/07 - Lee Henry

'The ancient art of the flea circus was brought back to life in style by

children's theatre company Cahoots NI in the magical location of the

Little Pavillion in Botanic Gardens.  Kids young and old marvelled at

this side-show of leaping fleas and sensational illusions...This perfect pre-

halloween adventure will leave you itching for more.'

The Irish News - 25/10/07 - Jenny Lee

'Afterwards, the hugely appreciative audience is taken back stage where

a professor (looking very like Dan Gordon) shows us around a museum

of curiosities, and explains how the human flea came to be.  Who'd of

thought that nits could be so entertaining?'

Belfast Telegraph - 29/10/07- Grania McFadden

FEEDBACK FROM AUDIENCE MEMBERS
